Life at Temple Christian College is rich in its opportunities to grow students outside of the classroom environment. Every year we are delighted to host and present a number of scheduled events and activities which help students to look beyond their immediate surroundings and encourages them to become active participants within the broader community through fundraising events, presentations and performances.
Listed below are just some of the different types of events held here at the Mile End Campus:
Social & Fundraising Events
Every year the Temple Christian College Parents & Friends Committee host fundraising events open to the broader Temple community. Held at the School campus, the annual Quiz Night and Bush Dance events have become a Temple favourite for the entire family offering great fun and friendship as well as raising much needed funds for charitable and community projects. Please visit our Parents & Friends page for the latest events details.
Music, Dance & Drama Performances
After school performances are a great way to showcase the growing talents of each of the students participating in music, dance, drama and production. Starting from Year 7 and going all the way through to Year 12, students at Temple Christian College have the opportunity to get involved in a number of annual events including: cabarets, concerts, performances, showcases and competitions.
Orientation Day & Welcome to New Families BBQ
In Term 4 of each year, Temple Christian College hosts its annual Orientation Day for all new students and their families who will be entering into Year 7 for the following year. All students attending have a fun day getting involved in subject activities and meeting new friends while their parents are hosted to a welcoming morning tea and information session.
The annual Year 7 and New Families BBQ Evening is a special event held during Term 1 of the new school year. Designed to give families the opportunity to gather and connect with each other, it also provides parents and guardians who may be new to the Temple community, the opportunity to meet the teachers and review their child’s transition to the school.
Presentation Evening
The highlight of every school year, Presentation Evening is a compulsory event held during the last week of the school calendar. A night of thanksgiving, worship and celebration, the schedule of award presentations is broken up with a host of items and performances from students across each year level. Since 2019, the Presentation Evening has been hosted at a new venue within the Adelaide Entertainment Centre. Our sincere thanks to the Thebarton Theatre for the many years of support for this special event.
