Our Year 10 Program

Marion Middle School Year 7 - 10

Year 10 is a critical year in the journey of a student’s educational pathway as it begins the formal preparation for their senior schooling during Years 11 & 12 and their career choice thereafter.

Year 9 - Preparing for Year 10

For student in Year 9 at the Marion Middle School, the preparation for Year 11 and 12 can take place either at the Marion Middle School (as they complete Year 10) or at the Mile End Campus should they chose to transition a year earlier.

Regardless of the choice, as a leadership team, we want to honour our parent’s choice of an authentic Christian school environment and optimise the opportunity of students to go through to Year 12 with the support of their peers/friends.

Mindful that due to the COVID-19 restrictions, families with student currently in Year 9 may need some additional support in making this important decision, we have prepared the following material and videos support which addresses some of the key areas which may be impacting your final decision. We trust that you find this information of assistance and ask that you do not hesitate to contact the school to arrange for a personal meeting with the Principals should you wish to discuss your child's options.

In the following two videos, Temple Christian College Principal, Marcel Rijken and Assistance Principal, Phil Paterson outline a number of the key benefits of completing Year 10 at the Marion Middle School and touch on what 2021 has in store.

Key points include:

• A thoughtful and caring Christ- centred community
• High capacity teachers with a pastoral heart and an authentic Christian faith
• Excellent single stream teacher-student ratios with an emphasis in the critical areas of numeracy, literacy and science
• Innovation in areas such as technology
• The attractiveness of a small school community and ready access to a staff that are already known and trusted by students and their families
• Professional links to the big sister school at Mile End which provides enormous support

• A Temple bus is provided that services the southern area of Adelaide traveling past the Marion campus
• Whilst transport can seem a big issue for parents selecting a school, often, in the greater scheme of factors that make a school the best choice for your child, it is an easy one to solve.
